What we were trying
From a viewpoint, it can be hard to know which summit you’re looking at. We wanted a quick way to put names to the peaks in front of you.
What shipped
- Augmented reality labels anchored to nearby peaks in the camera view
- Distance and elevation for a highlighted mountain
- A nearby mountain list with adjustable search radius and display options
- Accuracy indicators for location and compass readings
What we learned
Outdoor AR depends on reliable location and compass readings. Showing their accuracy helps people judge the labels they see on the landscape.
