Catch Up: Voice Updates is built for private voice catch-ups between people who know each other. Your catch-ups are for you and your friends. We do not sell your data or use your conversations for ads.

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to run the app:

Account information, such as your email address, display name, user ID, and authentication records.
Voice messages you record and send.
Message metadata, such as sender, recipient conversation, timestamps, duration, upload status, and reply relationships.
Invite information, such as invite codes, the name you enter for an invited friend, and whether an invite has been redeemed.
AI-generated content, such as transcripts, summaries, reply topics, detected questions, and important updates generated from voice messages.
App activity and diagnostic information needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.
Reports or support messages you choose to send us.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information beyond what you or your friends choose to include in voice messages.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

Create and manage your account.
Deliver voice messages between participants in a conversation.
Store and play back voice messages.
Transcribe voice messages and generate summaries and reply topics.
Create and redeem private invites.
Provide safety features such as blocking, reporting, and account deletion.
Fix bugs, maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
Respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your voice messages, transcripts, summaries, or friend relationships for advertising.

AI Processing

When you send a voice message, the audio may be processed by third-party AI providers, including OpenAI, to create a transcript, summary, reply topics, detected questions, and important updates.

AI outputs can be imperfect. They are intended to help you remember and respond, not to create authoritative records.

Service Providers

We use service providers to operate the app, including:

Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and backend functions.
OpenAI for transcription and AI-generated summaries.
Apple services for app distribution and platform functionality.

These providers process information for us so the app can function. They are not allowed by us to use your data for our advertising because we do not run an advertising business.

Sharing

We share your voice messages and related summaries only with participants in the relevant conversation, except when needed to operate the service, comply with law, enforce our terms, respond to safety reports, or protect users and the service.

Retention

We retain account information, messages, transcripts, summaries, and metadata while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your account data and remove content as described in the app, subject to legal, safety, backup, and abuse-prevention needs.

Some information may remain in backups for a limited period before deletion.

Your Choices

You can:

Sign out of your account.
Remove a conversation from your inbox.
Block or report a conversation.
Request or perform account deletion in the app.

Children

Catch Up: Voice Updates is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at support@kippisstudios.com.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and private voice messages should not be used for emergencies or highly sensitive legal, medical, or financial communications.

International Processing

Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and provide additional notice when required.
